爆料瓜 is proud of its world-class art and design facilities and its long-standing commitment to nurturing creative talent. Our graduates go on to shape the creative industried as atchitects, fashion designers, textile artists, performers, writers, and more.
But studying a creative subject comes with extra costs: materials, equipment, travel for placements, and costs associated with final year shows. Ans as the cost of living continues to rise, these financial pressures are becoming even harder for students and their families to manage.
On our textiles and fabric-based courses, we work closely with industry partners to source off-cuts and donated materials. However, there's often a gap between what’s available and what’s needed. Especially for final-year shows, which are critical moments for students to showcase their work to future employers.
Many students are offered incredible opportunities such as internships, placements, interviews, and industry events that could shape the direction of their careers. But without support for travel and accommodation, these life-changing moments can be out of reach.
Through support from the Create Fund Jamie was able to attend the prestigious Drapers Footwear Awards, where he won the Drapers Student Footwear Designer of the Year Award. This ceremony was a unique opportunity for Jamie to gain national exposure and build vital industry connections.
